Clarken Coombe can be rather bleak in the winter months with the old trees starkly visible at this time of year. Add a little sun (and snow if you are lucky) and its hugely worth a visit.

Below a gateway into the fallow deer park, the footpath forks into two close to the top before joining the Timberland Trail.

Above a massive stump with 8 major limbs visible from this angle. The photo was taken from the inside the deer park at the top of the footpath close to the timberland trail.
To the left little more than a hollow shell of a tree now but likely to support a huge variety of wildlife.
