The balloon fiesta and kite festival pages covers the free major events that occur on the Ashton Court Estate. Note that while entry is free there are parking charges.

Bristol Kite Festival

In one way the Kite Festival is the opposite of the Balloon Fiesta in that it thrives in windy conditions. Set at the top of the estate in late August or early September in often gets windy conditions too!

Bristol International Kite Festival runs for two days on Saturday and Sunday.

Its a popular event but simply not on the same scale as the Balloon Fiesta. If the sheer scale of the Balloon Fiesta puts you off this may be one for you.

Coordinated 4 string kite flying to music. Very impressive in what seemed like a gale in 2006.
